Forest Bathing afternoon

Spend time being mindful and connecting with nature.

2.5 hours of forest bathing, followed by a forest tea.

Retreat Details

Shinrin Yoku is the Japanese art of Forest Bathing dating back to 800BC. This meditative practice helps individuals connect with nature through mindfulness and is a powerful wellbeing practice.

Beyond the positive impact of mindfulness on mental health, evidence suggests that Shinrin Yoku boosts the immune system, reduces blood pressure and stress levels, improves sleep, increases cancer fighting cells and is a natural antidepressant – and is even prescribed by health professionals around the world.

The ancient woodlands surrounding Hill Farm are the perfect place to experience this restorative mindfulness practice.

This forest bathing afternoon includes two and a half hours of guided Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), followed by a forest tea. 2pm – 5.30pm.

Peaceful retreat. We took a Shinrin Yoku experience. Driving up through the countryside was a treat in itself, upon arriving we were met by Tom who was immediately friendly and relaxed. Our party was just the two of us and our old dog, we spent hours immersed in the forest enjoying our surroundings led by Tom to quietly connect with nature, our day was dry and sunny but would have been equally as enjoyable in the rain. We came away thoroughly relaxed. Friends asked us why were we paying for a walk in the woods when this can be done for free, to them I say you can walk for free, but this wasn't a walk in the woods it was a Shinrin Yoku experience with a guide knowledgeable and insightful, worth every penny.

Beautiful place well worth a visit it's my third visit and I've never been disappointed It has helped my mental and physical health and changed my life, its helped me to deal with my emotional and mental issues. Hayley is an inspiration to all her yoga students and Tom's food is amazing I have met many different people from all over the world, we are already planning our next visit after returning home today. I highly recommend a retreat at Hill farm.

I have just come away from a weekend retreat and it was absolutely brilliant. Hayley and Tom are fantastic hosts and couldn’t do enough for us. Hayley’s combination of Yin and Yang yoga, Tom’s forest bathing, and nourishing, tasty veggie food, the eco spa and yurt created the perfect blend of relaxation and fun throughout the weekend. The gong bath and massage were also wonderful additions. Thanks so much!

My visit to Hill Farm couldn’t have come at a better time. I arrived feeling slightly frazzled and very tired and left feeling calm and energised to continue doing my job and caring for my family AND myself. Highly recommended!

I have just come back from a yoga and well-being retreat and it was fantastic. The farm is idyllic, and only about 45 minutes from Bristol on a good run. Hayley is a wonderful yoga teacher, technically skilled but very kind and helpful, while Tom's Forest Bathing sessions are a really enlightening experience. The food is fantastic too, and they are the perfect hosts. The only bad thing about the retreat was having to leave on the Sunday!
