Women’s Personal Safety Training Day

Women’s Personal Safety Training Day (10am – 3pm)
Join us and learn safety strategies and new skills that will help you to feel safer and more able to deal with threatening and intimidating or violent situations.
This course was written by women, to be delivered to women by women.
The course is unique in that it deals with both the psychological and physical elements of personal safety. It was initiated in the late 1970’s by women who questioned that their safety was a priority as many still do today.
This day is part of a 20-hour course, which with enough interest will continue throughout the year.

You will need to wear comfortable clothes such as joggers, t-shirt and flat shoes (trainers if you have them), and a fleece or warm jumper for the cool down and relaxation.
Bring a bottle of water, journal and your own packed lunch.
Refreshments will be provided.
Minimum age is 14, and group size will be up to 12 women.

Amanda Kenny has been a qualified Women’s Self Defence Trainer OCN level III for over 20 years as well as a member of the NWSDA (National Women’s Self Defence Association), she has a City and Guilds 7307 teaching qualification, a B. A. Honours Degree in Women’s Studies and a Graduate Certificate in Integrative Counselling.
Amanda was a tutor for seven years at Wolverhampton Adult Education Service, two years in the role of Service Co-ordinator for Women. Four years at Dudley Council as a Youth Participation Officer Dudley Council and 10 years in the role of CAMHS Therapeutic Practitioner for Wolverhampton NHS.
