The Wintering Retreat
The Wintering Retreat
The Wintering Day Retreat at Hill Farm, Tintern
“Winter is a time of withdrawing from the world, maximising scant resources, carrying out acts of brutal efficiency and vanishing from sight; but that’s where the transformation occurs”
Katherine May – Wintering
A nourishing day to down tools as we start to winter. Every season has a reason, and winter is a time to digest what’s happened in the year, cozy up, and take time to rest and come back home to ourselves.
The start of the day will start with breath work and flow yoga and meditation to get out of our minds into our bodies. Following our movement, we will nourish ourselves with a delicious seasonal lunch. The afternoons activities start with a journalling exercise, followed by a deeply restorative yoga practice. Then time to totally relax in our wood fired eco spa overlooking The Wye Valley and optional treatments.

Yoga helped me recover both mentally and physically and I became and regular practitioner. I have a background working in prisons and at a women’s refuge and have seen for myself how yoga can help everybody.
I am a busy mum of 2 daughters and a business owner. I started taking yoga classes 13 years ago during my pregnancy and following the birth of my first daughter. However, I really felt the benefits after suffering post-natal anxiety and psychosis following the birth of my second daughter.
I started to run retreats after being made redundant from the charity sector on maternity leave. I have a tourism business management degree and I saw a gap in market for retreats in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. That led to me undertaking my first yoga teacher training and the rest is history. I truly love teaching and seeing the positive difference is makes in my students’ lives. I feel truly blessed to be offering classes that can be described as a bottom up to healing.
